AfexEU - BaFin investigations due to identity fraud

31.05.2023
AfexEU pretends to provide investors with the very best opportunities to make fast and safe money while trading currencies, stocks, indices and commodities at the same time. With AfexEU, it's all investment fraud. The money has gone straight into the pockets of the investment scammers. Nothing is traded on afexeu.com. Everything the investor sees on his screen is a fraud. Not a cent has been invested. Can you report comparable reviews? What help is available in the case of investment fraud? What can investors do who have been defrauded by AfexEU? How do investors get their money back from dubious providers?

AfexEU: Bland and dubious claims on afexeu.com
What must the astonished visitors read on www.afexeu.com? "AfexEU is an international online brokerage company offering retail and institutional investors access to more than 130 trading instruments across 6 asset classes.... Our goal is to build long-term and close relationships with our clients by providing them with the tools, knowledge and skills they need and helping them achieve success and stability in their trading activities." This is a selection of the suspect claims that interested parties will find on the AfexEU website. None of these noble assurances by AfexEU have been kept. Unfortunately, the dubious business practices alone make for disappointed investors and miserable reviews!

AfexEU: Who is behind it?
Most investors will have trouble answering this question because the AfexEU makers do everything they can to conceal the true circumstances. This is certainly nothing unusual, because the fraudsters usually run several of these websites with the same fraudulent business model. These are produced continuously, uploaded without interruption on the internet and just as quickly taken offline again; moreover, the top-level domain is often changed in order to deceive financial supervisory and law enforcement authorities. Nevertheless, BaFin published a warning.

AfexEU: Identity abuse
Because the investment fraudsters chose the name AfexEU for their platform, the suspicion is that they used the name of the Irish company AFEX Markets Europe Limited. In this way, investors were led to believe that afexeu.com was a regulated platform. This is identity fraud.

But who is the operator of AfexEU?
On the website afexeu.com nothing useful can be found about this. Admittedly, the company AfexEU is named. But a business address where the makers of AfexEU can be found is not to be found. There is neither a support e-mail address nor a telephone number. The domain afexeu.com was registered with WebNIC on 10.03.2022.

AfexEU: Scheme of the investment fraud
Investment fraud always follows a recurring pattern: investors initially put in a small sum - usually 250 euros - are impressed by how quickly this amount increases and are therefore prepared to "invest" ever higher sums. The trouble starts as soon as an investor wants to have his money paid out, because now taxes, commissions, fees or whatever else supposedly have to be paid. Unfortunately, most investors are too slow to realise that they have been deceived by an investment scam and that there was never any intention to withdraw the money.

AfexEU: What help is there for investment fraud?
Many desperate investors ask themselves how to proceed in the case of investment fraud, since it hardly makes sense to file criminal charges, since criminal charges are primarily used for criminal prosecution, but not for recovering the money. What kind of help is available in investment fraud cases and how do the aggrieved investors get their money back? A lawyer specialising in investment fraud knows how to track the money, because as they used to say, money is never gone, it's somewhere else. Now one can add: It is tricky, but with the right tools it is possible to track money digitally on a regular basis - even if it was deposited with Bitcoin via a Crypto Exchanger.
